Gambling Healthy
I’ve been an avid gambler for years. Since my first trip to Vegas some ten years ago, gambling has had an inexorable hold on me. I enjoy the thrill of the casinos, the bright lights and cheers of the crowds, and of course the inimitable rush of hitting the jackpot. Of course, spending long nights in the casinos hadn’t done much for my figure. All of the free alcoholic drinks and the greasy food began to adversely affect my svelte figure. Before I knew it, I had become the stereotypical fat American.
People at work treated me differently; my Friday nights suddenly weren’t so full and I found it nearly impossible to get a date. It was embarrassing. To make matters worse, my doctor said if I didn’t lose weight, I had become a high risk candidate for heart attack or stroke. He knew my gambling affection and he, of all people, suggested I try playing at a casino online which would give me the thrill of gambling but would hopefully curb my lust for greasy food and drink.
I bought a treadmill and mounted a touch screen monitor on the bar which was connected to my computer and an internet connection. The idea was that if I was to gamble at online casinos I had to do so while running – or at least walking – to support my hobby and to improve my physical health. To my surprise, after struggling mightily for the first few weeks I began to find that the endorphin rush from exercise coupled with the thrill of gambling made for a new and more exciting time. In fact, I gamble much less now but exercise more. I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to online gambling.
