Insoluble fiber comes from eating green leafy vegetables, whole grains and nuts. Bowel movements are regularized by insoluble fiber. It also maintains the PH level in our large intestines. If there are excess feces in the colon, it can actually add up to a person’s weight. On normal situations, the colon can hold 5-15 lbs of waste. If a person is always constipated, the colon can hold up to 25 lbs of waste.
It is also recommended that instead of eating three large meals, eat more meals a day, but in small amounts. This way, the body digests the food faster because it is taken in small amounts. It also keeps us from over eating.
